Do i need experience to come along to classes?
Not at all! Lots of our new students haven't ever been like to anything like SJM before and we pride ourselves on being welcoming and inclusive to everyone, regardless of previous experience! The hardest part of it if you are new to classes like ours is getting through the door - after that you will have so much fun you'll forget it's your first time doing it!
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING WITH ME?
This will vary from class to class, depending on what you are attending. For weekly classes, just yourself, comfortable clothes suitable for dance and some water is perfect. For holiday workshops we ask that you bring a packed lunch with enough for a couple of snacks.
Clothing wise, dance wear is always helpful but not necessary - comfortable clothes and trainers work just as well for us as leggings and jazz shoes.
We do ask that once you are given scripts or song words you remember to bring them with you each day/week. Perhaps a folder dedicated to these is a good way to make sure you remember everything you need!
WILL I BE IN THE SAME CLASS AS MY FRIENDS?
All of our classes are divided by school year age, so that P1s and with other P1s and so on - if you are in the same year as your friends you will most definitely be in the same class. If you are in a different year, we do suggest trying the class we would choose first - you may know others anyway and it's a great way to make new friends. However please speak to us if there are any issues with this!
